€ 173m EU funding available to industrial SMEs in Romania for investments in production activities and services development during 2016 – 2017. Individual grants of up to € 1m, with a 70% maximum funding intensity.
On July 25th 2016, the Management Authority for the Regional Operational Programme has published for public consultation the Applicant Guidelines for Investment Priority 2.2 – POR 2014 – 2020.
This programme will support SMEs, including microenterprises (up to 9 employees), to develop production activities or services in rural or urban areas. The value of individual grants ranges between minimum € 200.000 and maximum € 1m.
Eligible project locations should be based in one of the following development regions: North East, South East, South Muntenia, Oltenia South West, West, North West, Centre. The competition and budget allocation will be regional, with every development region being allocated allocation total budget between € 20 – 30m.
Eligible activities comprise investments in purchase of assets (both tangible and intangible): construction/ extension/ modernization works of the production or supply of services facilities of SMEs, including the related utilities, purchasing the following fixed assets: technological equipment, tools, furniture, IT equipment, office equipment, purchasing installations/ equipment for energy savings, patents, licenses, brands, IT software, and other similar assets or rights.
The Applicant Guidelines will remain in public consultation until August 24th 2016. The competition will start after the publication of its final version and will remain open for 6 months, subject to total available funding.
This is the most important EU-funding opportunity for SMEs in Romania looking to invest in production capacities during the current funding cycle 2014 – 2020.
