SME Instrument update – Results for Phase 1 September 2016 cutoff date

EASME has selected 182 projects from 189 SMEs in 24 countries on the basis of the proposals received in Phase 1 cut-off September 2016. Projects selected from this cut-off will receive a total of EUR 9.1 million and each project will receive EUR 50,000. The funding will assist feasibility studies for new products that can disrupt the market. The projects were selected out of 1,938 proposals from 40 countries.

Most projects will be for (29), followed by transport and low-carbon energy systems (24). Most SMEs benefitting from this funding come from Italy (34) Spain (30) and the United Kingdom (18).

A total of of 1840 SMEs have been selected for Phase 1 of the SME Instrument since the start of the programme in January 2014.
