EEA & Norway Grants in Bulgaria – Green Industry Innovation call closed now, 80 Project Applications by Bulgarian companies

In Bulgaria 80 projects have been submitted to compete in the first call for proposals under the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs programme, focus area: Green Industry Innovation. The funding for this call was EUR 18 million focused on green innovation projects on the Bulgarian market.

The submitted project applications account to EUR 47 million of grants, which is close to 3 times more than the available funding. Furthermore, among all eighty projects nearly half have Norwegian partners, as the the Fund Operator – Innovation Norway strongly encourages bilateral partnerships in this programme. 32 Projects in Bulgaria Funded in the previous financial cycle.

EUR 11.5 million was allocated to 32 projects for greening of businesses in Bulgaria during the previous cycle of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, Innovation Norway’s programme for Green Industry Innovation.
