EEA & Norway Grants – EUR 809.3 million allocated to Poland

Poland will get EUR 809.3 million under the EEA & Norway Grants 2014 – 202, being one of the 15 Beneficiary States across the EU in this new funding cycle, to have signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Donor States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

Out of the total budget, up to EUR 225 million will create direct opportunities for the private sector, via the programmes: Business Development and Innovation (EUR 85 million) and Environment, Energy and Climate Change (EUR 140 million). Further EUR 110 million will be offered under the Research programme, potentially addressing research & innovation projects for companies, too.

The Business Development and Innovation programme will aim to increase value creation and sustainable growth across enterprises in Poland, via 2 main focus areas: Green Industry Innovation and Blue Growth. This programme will be operated by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, in partnership with Innovation Norway.

These programme areas open excellent opportunities for organizations in Donor State countries interested to partner on bilateral projects in the areas mentioned above, together with local Project Promoters from Poland.

Further programmes of less direct relevance for the private sector (incl. allocation in million euro) are:

  • • Education (20)
  • • Social Dialogue – Decent Work (6)
  • • Health (20)
  • • Local Development (100)
  • • Culture (75)
  • • Civil Society (53)
  • • Justice (70)
  • • Home Affairs (20)
  • • Bilateral fund (16)

Adding up the national contribution to the grants, the total funding allocation in Poland will amount over EUR 860 million under the EEA & Norway grants mechanism 2014-2021.

The current EEA & Norway Grants 2014 – 2021 funding cycle includes 15 Beneficiary States. Out of these, the Donor States have signed to date a Memorandum of Understanding with: Poland, Greece, The Czech Republic, Portugal, Estonia, Malta, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania.
