EEA & Norway Grants in Croatia – EUR 22 million for SMEs, Business Development and Innovation for Croatian companies

[updated on 30 June 2020] – after the online launch event provided by the Fund Operator.

EUR 22 million will be available to SMEs on the Croatian market via the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs programme aiming to increase the value creation and sustainable growth in the Croatian business sector. The programme is to be operated by Innovation Norway, with the programme partner being the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Zagreb. As part of the Norway Grants 2014-2021 financial mechanism, the programme aims to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to support the bilateral relations between Norway and the Beneficiary States.

The programme for Business Development, Innovation and SMEs in Greece will aim to increase the value creation and sustainable growth in the Croatian business sector, with 2 focus areas: Green Industry Innovation and Blue Growth. Projects that include bilateral partners bringing added value are strongly encouraged. 75% of the total funding will go to SMEs.

The projects should fit under 1 of the 4 areas of support:

– Innovative technologies, processes and services
– Sustainable business development
– Greening of existing businesses and processes
– Development and implementation of innovative products and services

In the upcoming months, more information will be published regarding the funding conditions and eligibility requirements. Innovation Norway will afterwards organize national and regional information sessions in Croatia and Norway with the first call for proposals expected to launch in the summer of 2019.
